Maria Marcocelli
LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE

Restless nights tossing and turning
Worrying about tommorrow's activities
Unsure where all my schooling will take me
A job with a window view or flipping burgers till I am 60

A life less ordinary
Trying to predict the future, but always
Coming across a clouded vision
Going out into the world with
Fresh knowledge and skills
Thanking those who gave them to me,
But also thanking myself for putting up with this shit

I knew as a child what I wanted to be,
but, how quickly the mind changes
Downfalls and obstacles to rise
Above within these past four years
Now the time has come to determine
Whether this school has given to me
What life will ask of me
